How we make money

One plan. A capped price. No investors.

We build software for small businesses, and we are a small business too. This page says exactly how we make money, including the parts most companies leave out.

One plan · every feature Capped price · in the contract No investors · owner-run

We haven't set our launch price yet. The waitlist hears it first.

Independent

We have no investors

CloudOverture is owned by the people who run it. Who a software company answers to decides where its next dollar comes from.

Most software companies

More money from each existing customer, every year

So you get

Price hikes, new tiers, repackaged features

Your bill grows because you stayed.

Who need

More businesses to choose us

So you get

One plan, every feature, a capped price

We grow by earning new customers.

We have never taken outside money, and we are not planning to.

Your price

Your price is capped, in writing

The launch price isn't set yet. But the cap on future changes is already decided.

Our goal is to never use this cap

We want to hold your price where it started, and lower it if growth lets us. Saying that is easy. So we also put a ceiling in writing that you can hold us to.

Once you're a customer, CloudOverture can change your price at most once a year, capped at inflation, or 3% when inflation is lower, with 90 days' written notice. Skipped years don't stack. If we don't raise the price one year, we can't add it later.

"Inflation" here means CPI-U, the standard US inflation number the government publishes each month.

The cap covers your seat prices. The few things you pay for as you use them are priced on their own. They are listed further down.

New customers may pay a different price than you do. That never changes yours.

This cap will be in our contract, not just on this page.

Every price change we ever make, up or down, lands on the pricing changelog. That page is the proof, not this one.

One plan

Every feature, on every account

There is one plan. It includes every feature we build. No Pro tier, no Enterprise tier, no "Contact us for pricing" button.

We don't hold features back to sell them to you later. Our revenue grows when we serve more businesses, not when we find new ways to charge the ones we already have.

Pricing is per seat: your first seat has its own price, and every seat after it costs less.

A few things cost us money each time you use them. You pay for those as you go, and we name them plainly:

Heavy AI use.

Every account includes a big monthly amount of AI email reading. Past that, you can add more for a small fee. The included amount covers a typical small team.

Live bank feeds, when they ship.

The bank-data provider charges us for each connected account, so live feeds will be a paid add-on. Importing bank statements is in the base plan and stays there.

Both are priced for use, not locked behind a tier. Every feature stays on every account.

The pricing table

Other tools need columns. We need one.

A pricing page usually holds three to five columns, and the feature you need sits one column up. Ours holds one. This is it, with the full feature list on it.

The whole pricing table

One plan

Price not set yet

The waitlist hears it first. Pricing is per seat: your first seat has its own price, and every seat after it costs less.

  • Every feature below is on it
  • 30-day free trial
  • Price rises capped in the contract

Gray notes show the cheapest plan where another tool sells the same thing, at their listed prices. Only here marks what none of them offer at any price.

Customers & sales

FreshBooks and Wave keep books, not customers. QuickBooks added a basic customer area in 2026. Most of it needs its $140 plan, and much of it is marked beta.

  • One record per customer, across sales and money QuickBooks: a light version on the $140 plan
  • A deal board you drag from lead to won QuickBooks: a light version on the $140 plan, in beta
  • AI writes a short summary of any customer QuickBooks: on the $140 plan, in beta
  • Contacts, with one set as the billing contact
  • Files on the record: contracts, forms, photos
  • Addresses that fill in on quotes and invoices

Quotes that win work

  • Send a quote as a link. No PDF, no login FreshBooks: proposals start on the $43 plan
  • Customers accept online and can pay right there FreshBooks: online signing starts on the $43 plan
  • See when a quote was viewed, and how often QuickBooks tracks views on invoices, not quotes
  • An accepted quote becomes an invoice on its own
  • Fast line entry from your saved item list
  • Your word for it: quote, estimate, proposal, or bid

Work & scheduling

No plan of QuickBooks, FreshBooks, or Wave schedules jobs. That takes a second tool beside the books. Jobber alone starts at $49 a month for one person.

  • Schedule each job with a date and arrival window Only here
  • My day: your stops in order, on a map Only here
  • A calendar in day, week, and month views
  • Assign the work to someone on your team
  • Mark it done. The waiting invoice sends Only here
  • Call it a job, project, matter, or visit
  • Flags for finished work you have not billed

Invoices & getting paid

  • Invoices paid online by card or bank transfer
  • Customers can pay in USDC. No card fees Only here
  • Repeat invoices on a schedule you set Wave: automatic sending needs the $19 plan
  • Reminders that follow up on late invoices Wave: needs the $19 plan
  • One payment can cover several invoices
  • Customer credit and refunds, tracked for you
  • Your logo and colors on every quote and invoice Wave: needs the $19 plan

Money out & plain reports

  • A cash-flow forecast from the bills you entered Zoho Books: starts on the $70 plan
  • A profit report in plain words, any time FreshBooks: full accounting reports start on the $43 plan
  • Recurring bills you set once, on your schedule QuickBooks: recurring entries start on the $85 plan
  • Track expenses, even ones you paid for personally
  • See who owes you, and for how long
  • Sales tax collected, ready for filing time
  • Resale margins, plus an accountant mode for formal reports QuickBooks: inventory needs the $140 plan, or a $40-a-month add-on

Your bank, matched to your books

  • Upload a bank statement. Lines land ready to review
  • Most lines arrive matched. One click to confirm
  • A guided month-end close made for owners, not accountants QuickBooks: only in its accountant product
  • AI suggests the category; you confirm before it counts
  • A transfer between your accounts is never counted twice
  • Lock a closed month so it cannot change

AI work prioritization

The core of the product. FreshBooks and Wave have no version of this. QuickBooks’ 2026 AI agents work the books and a lead feed, mostly on the $140 plan, mostly in beta.

  • A ranked list of what needs you today QuickBooks: agents post updates to a feed on the $140 plan, in beta
  • AI files each email to the right customer QuickBooks: a beta lead scanner on the $140 plan
  • A flag when a customer sounds unhappy Only here
  • Every email lands on the customer’s timeline QuickBooks: leads only, on the $140 plan, in beta
  • Connect Gmail, Microsoft 365, or another mailbox

An easy start

  • Switch by uploading files: CSV, Excel, PDF, or photos
  • AI reads them into a setup you review line by line FreshBooks: migration help is only on its top "Select" plan
  • A one-time inbox scan. You approve every find Only here
  • Unpaid invoices carry over with live payment links
  • Customer lists import with duplicate checks
  • Starting categories matched to your kind of business
  • Step-by-step export guides for QuickBooks, Xero, and Wave

The everyday basics

  • Set sales tax and payment terms once
  • Alerts in the app, on your phone, or by daily email
  • Room for your whole team FreshBooks: $11/month for each team member. Wave: extra users need the $19 plan. QuickBooks: more than 5 users needs the $340 plan.
  • No limit on customers you can bill FreshBooks: 5 billable clients on the $23 plan, 50 on the $43 plan

6 of these features are not in QuickBooks, FreshBooks, or Wave at any price.

The feature list shows the first version. We are building it now.

Payments

When your customers pay you

Cards, through Stripe

Your customers can pay invoices by card. Stripe processes the payment, and you pay Stripe's standard rate. We add nothing on top.

Stripe shares a small part of its fee with us. That share comes out of Stripe's fee, not out of your pocket. Your rate is the same as going to Stripe directly.

We just think you should know the arrangement exists.

USDC, with no card fees

If you'd rather skip card fees, your customers can pay in USDC, a US-dollar stablecoin. The network fee is under one cent.

The money moves straight from your customer to you. You hold your own keys. We never hold the funds, we can't pause, reverse, or redirect a payment, and we earn nothing on it.

Your customer needs USDC and you need a wallet, so it won't fit every business. It's there if you want it.

Maya Torres Invoice #241 · $1,850.00 Paid in full

Invoice total $1,850.00

Stripe's fee (2.9% + 30¢) −$53.95

CloudOverture's cut $0.00

You receive $1,796.05

Your rate is Stripe's, the same as going to Stripe directly. Stripe shares a small part of its own fee with us. That share comes out of Stripe's fee, not your total.

One example invoice, at Stripe's published US card rate today.

We're building both now. Card payments carry Stripe's processing fee. USDC is the way around card fees, not a discount on them.

Your data

Your data is yours

You'll be able to export your data at any time, in a standard format. No support ticket, no waiting.

We'd rather keep you because the software is good, not because leaving is hard.

What we will never do

Six promises. This is the whole list.

Raise your price past the cap. At most once a year, capped at inflation, or 3% when inflation is lower. In writing.
Lock a feature behind a higher tier. There is one plan. Every feature is on it.
Mark up card fees. You pay Stripe's standard rate. We add nothing.
Sell your data. Not yours, not your customers'. Ever.
Run ads in the product. You pay for the software. That's the whole business.
Hide the price behind a salesperson. The price will be public, on this site. No "Contact us."

We list every pricing change we ever make on the pricing changelog.
